For the past 20 years Obusedo has been proposing a movement called "From the Countryside to the Kingdom." This means that the producers of primary products should not aim for quantity but rather pursue diversity hand-in-hand with local consumers, taking care with the quality of processed goods and finally using their products to build a richer lifestyle and culture. As a result, locally-produced goods are consumed locally and consumer information abounds, which we call the "Kingdom." Chestnut cultivation, chestnut confections, chestnut cooking, chestnut wood blocks, chestnut-dyed fabrics and chestnut motif designs and other projects are all ideas aiming towards a chestnut Kingdom. In the time of "From the Countryside to the Kingdom" we will see the true richness of the countryside come to bloom.
